Liverpool Set To Finalize Deal On Georgian Goalkeeper

Liverpool and the La Liga team are about to verbally agree to a deal for the goalkeeper from Georgia, reports LWOS

This deal may be completed before the summer window closes if a few issues can be worked out between the two sides.

According to Romano, the agreement on the terms of payment and the structure of the arrangement still need to be finalized.

The goalkeeper will reportedly cost Liverpool around £29.7 million to purchase, although he will first spend 2024–2025 on loan at Valencia before moving to Anfield the following year.

This implies that he will be focusing on furthering his development in Spain rather than challenging Alisson for the top berth in Arne Slot’s squad this season.

Remarkably, Liverpool has decided to add a goalie as their first summer acquisition of 2024, although this trade obviously has future plans in mind.

In 37 La Liga games last season, the Georgian goalie actually preserved 13 clean sheets, five more than Alisson did in the 2023–24 Premier League. Ex-England goalkeeper Paul Robinson recently praised Mamardashvili as a “outstanding talent” and said that he also showed promise in Euro 2024, helping Georgia get to the final rounds.
