Liverpool are reportedly set to hold a meeting with Nice midfielder, Khephren Thuram’s representatives. But they face a prospective stern test with Manchester United for his signature.
The 22-year-old is still contracted with the French club till 2025. He has been a key player for the club.
Many top European teams have expressed interest in him. But Liverpool are said to have made a firm move for the player.
Thuram is a player Jurgen Klopp likes and wants to add to his midfield revamp this summer.
Additionally, Liverpool have already had a meeting with the player’s entourage, according to the French sports newspaper L’Equipe as per Inside Futbol.
He is seriously wanted by the Merseyside giants, and first negotiations have already begun.
Thuram reportedly finds the idea of going to Anfield intriguing. But there are a number of obstacles to overcome.
Liverpool would have to consent to shelling out a hefty sum in order to convince Nice to change their mind about selling him.

But there is also the chance that Thuram will wish to move to Manchester United if Nice’s present owners, INEOS, are successful in acquiring the club.
The French club have no interest in selling him. But if INEOS acquires the ownership of Manchester United, their transfer intentions may be altered.
