Liverpool is up against fierce competition to sign him, although Kerkez has long been considered Andy Robertson’s long-term replacement.

The Reds have accelerated the process after contacting Kerkez’s representation and Bournemouth after Real Madrid, Manchester United, Manchester City, and Arsenal all showed interest in the left-back.

It is believed that Bournemouth will not sell him for less than £40 million, even if no bid has been submitted as of yet.

Kerkez is rumored to prefer a move to Liverpool over the other possibilities.

The 21-year-old sees himself at Anfield because of the club’s director of football, Richard Hughes, who brought him to England.

With two goals and five assists in 29 Premier League games thus far this season, the Hungary international has been one of Bournemouth’s most impressive players, reports standard.

“I think we’ve been linked with pretty much every left-back in the world,” he said ahead of Scotland’s Nations League clash against Greece.

“That comes with playing with one of the greatest clubs in the world. I look back on these eight years I’ve had as the starting left-back at that club and I feel a lot of pride.
