Liverpool Star Drops Huge Hint Over Alexander-Arnold Future

Liverpool forward, Cody Gakpo has reportedly admitted that Trent Alexander-Arnold’s future is far from decided.

The Liverpool defender is set to be out of contract at the end of the 2024-25 season.

It is believed that Alexander-Arnold and Real Madrid have reached an agreement on a five-year contract.

He would join on a free transfer this summer, albeit the move has not yet been formally disclosed.

Gakpo has recently suggested, though, that the England international might decide to stay longer, like Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah did.

According to talkSPORT, the Reds winger commented on Sunday as Liverpool celebrated winning the title.

With a commemorative scarf wrapped round his head, the Dutchman explained: “Now with Mo and Virgil staying, and hopefully Trent as well, they can keep building.”

At Anfield, Arne Slot’s team defeated Tottenham 5-1 to secure the Premier League title.

Gakpo was one of the goal scorers as the home team overcame a deficit to secure the top spot.

Recently, Salah and Van Dijk signed two-year contracts that would last until the summer of 2027.

Both of their prior contracts were slated to expire at the end of the campaign, along with Alexander-Arnold’s.

After returning from injury last week, the right-back has been reticent about his own future.

Alexander-Arnold scored the game-winning goal at Leicester after coming off the bench, but he will not discuss what will happen this summer.
