Liverpool ‘Table’ £78M Offer For Alexander-Arnold

Liverpool have reportedly tabled a new contract offer worth £78 million for Trent Alexander-Arnold.

With Real Madrid and other European powerhouses showing interest, the Reds are under pressure to renew the 26-year-old’s contract.

On the eve of the January transfer window, Los Blancos made a £20 million offer, which Liverpool turned down. Since Alexander-Arnold’s current contract is slated to expire in the summer, there has been discussion about his future and the prospect of him departing on a free transfer.

According to reports from Spain at the end of last year, Madrid were already aware that the full-back had told the Reds that he wanted a move to La Liga.

However, Alexander-Arnold scored a goal against West Ham United a few days later, seemingly dismissing the rumors in a spectacular way.

The Reds have now proposed a brand-new, five-year contract worth £78 million for the 26-year-old, according to The Mirror as reported by The Echo.

The deal has been compared to the £300,000-per-week offer from the Spanish city club, with the only catch being a hefty signing-on fee for leaving Anfield.

Oliver Glasner, the manager of Crystal Palace, has been compelled to deny rumors that some of his best players may depart Selhurst Park.

It follows after captain Marc Guehi, who has links to Liverpool, received Premier League attention, specifically from Newcastle United.

As Guehi approaches the last 18 months of his contract, there has been much talk regarding a potential departure, despite the Reds having made no official approach or offer.
