Liverpool are allegedly interested in signing Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman. The Reds remain the only Premier League club yet to complete a signing this summer.
Lookman has been linked with the Reds following his impressive performance for Atalanta last season. In fact, the 26-year-old had 17 goals and 10 assists in 45 games across all competitions. This featured a hat-trick in the Europa League final win over Bayer Leverkusen in May.

According to journalist Alfredo Pedulla, Liverpool is interested in signing Lookman this month, with the Reds reportedly ‘in the background’ watching events. According to the same source, Arsenal are at the top of the queue for his signature, with the Gunners preparing a bid worth £42.6 million with the option of using out-of-favour defender Jakub Kiwior in any move for Lookman. A loan to purchase agreement is also apparently an option.
Atalanta values Lookman between £55 million and £60 million and does not want to lose him before the end of the transfer season. Meanwhile, Lookman is eager to depart the Bergamo club after being left out of their Serie A opening against Lecce on Monday at his own request. According to Sportitalia, he also refused to participate in Wednesday’s training session in an attempt to force a move away from the club.
Lookman has plenty of Premier League experience under his belt. The 26-year-old, who began his Premier League career with Everton, most recently played for Leicester, where he had a successful loan spell in the 2021/22 season. During that season, Lookman scored against Liverpool in a 1-0 victory for the Foxes.
