Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold hails Arne Slot Advice

Liverpool’s right back Trent Alexander–Arnold has stated that he embraces criticism from manager Arne Slot in order to become a formidable defender in Europe.

The 25-year-old has a reputation for attacking prowess, but he has also faced criticism for his defensive abilities. However, speaking after Liverpool’s 3-0 win over Bournemouth on Saturday, he stated that he wanted Slot to help him turn things around.

“I said to him [Slot] that I would like to be the defender that no one wants to come up against in Europe,” Alexander-Arnold recalled.

“We agreed that he will be harsh on me,” she said. “If an attacker gets by me, he will point it up in meetings and individual conversations, saying it cannot happen. We go through each game together, and he points out where I can improve. Even after the Milan game, we went over approximately 20 video to see what I might have done better as well as the nice aspects. Reported on ESPN.

“It’s really refreshing to have a manager who will help, guide, and teach me how to improve as a player.” I am someone who wants to learn, be the best, and try to be the best of all time.

Alexander-Arnold railed against the impression that he is weak at defending, admitting that it can be difficult to overcome.

Alexander-Arnold Worlds

“I think that perception was perhaps harsh, if I am honest,” Alexander-Arnold added. “It was a massive notion, and it was difficult to dismiss with just one strong defensive performance. But when you add it all up, we’ve kept four of the league’s five clean sheets, which is amazing for a back line.

“Defences win championships — that is the old saying, and being a part of that defence means I have a responsibility to ensure my winger does not get a sniff in the game.” I set goals for each game, such as how many times I am dribbled past, how many times he receives a cross, and how many shots he takes. Then I reflect on it.

Alexander-Arnold recorded his first assist of the season against Bournemouth, and the win moved the team to second place in the Premier League, one point behind Manchester City.
