Atalanta head Coach, Gian Piero Gasperini blasted Ademola Lookman as ‘one of the worst penalty takers he has ever seen’ following his miss from the spot in their 3-1 loss to Club Brugge in the UEFA Champions League.
Lookman gave the Serie A team a goal early in the second half to get them back into the match, but Atalanta lost all momentum as Simon Mignolet saved a penalty.
The Europa League champions were shocked by the Belgian team’s 5-2 aggregate victory in Bergamo.
According to EuroSport, Gasperini was not hesitant to criticize the Nigeria international, stating that Mateo Retegui or Charles De Ketelaere ought to have taken the penalty.

Rafael Toloi, the captain of Atalanta, added to this humiliation by receiving a red card for an unwarranted shove on Maxim De Cuyper.
When Toloi attempted to toss the ball at the Belgian after De Cuyper blocked his throw-in, he slid and charged at the 24-year-old in a fit of wrath.
