Luis Suarez has announced on Tuesday that he has signed a pre-contract deal to join Uruguayan club Nacional as a free agent. He stated in a video clip to fans on Tuesday that intends to finalise the move soon.
The forward left Atletico Madrid at the end of last season, capping off a hugely successful stint in La Liga. Over the course of his stint in Europe, he also enjoyed noteworthy stays with Barcelona, Liverpool, Ajax, and Groningen.
Suarez began his professional career at Nacional in 2005 and soon earned a transfer across the globe while making his debut for Uruguay. His return home allows him to train for the 2022 World Cup in familiar settings.

Suarez had been linked with a move to the United States, and the player himself stated that he had received multiple offers from MLS clubs.
However, he always maintained that the most essential thing was to prepare for Qatar. MLS clubs that do not make the play-offs finish their seasons in early October, which he described as “unhelpful” in the run-up to the event.
