Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has enjoyed a dig at Arsenal over their pursuit of Houssem Aouar.
The Gunners are understood to be looking to offload a string of fringe players in order to fund a move for a new midfielder.
And Aulas could not resist poking fun at the fact the Gunners are either unwilling or unable to fund a move for their star man, who has been given a £44million price tag.
Asked if Arsenal are likely to agree a deal for Aouar, Aulas told journalist Chris Wheatley: “No I don’t think so.
“No offer yet. It seems that Arsenal don’t want to – or can’t – invest the price for Houssem, who is our best player.”
