Manchester City are reportedly already considering offering Erling Haaland an improved contract – if he continues to score goals at this rate.
Haaland only joined the Etihad Stadium this summer, but he has already set a club record with 14 goals in 10 outings across all competitions.
With 11 goals in his first seven Premier League appearances, the 22-year-old is on track to surpass Mohamed Salah’s record of 32 goals in a 38-game season.
Man City To Offer Haaland A Wage Increase?
Man City won a bidding war for Haaland this year, with the striker’s contract valued at £375,000 per week.
The hefty contract currently makes him the club’s joint-highest earner, along with Kevin De Bruyne, but the Daily Star reports that Man City are considering handing him a wage increase if he maintains his success.
Haaland’s current contract is also said to contain a €200m (£175.8m) release clause that can be activated in 2024, or a €175m (£153.8 m) release clause that can be activated in 2025, if specified minimum sporting objectives are met by that point.
Any new contract is expected to include those terms, as Haaland’s father, Alf-Inge Haaland, recently stated that his son wants to test himself in all of Europe’s top divisions.

In the past, City have often rewarded players for a great debut season, with the likes of Ruben Dias, Bernardo Silva, Aymeric Laporte, and Ederson all receiving wage increases at the end of their first seasons.
Haaland’s goal-scoring heroics might see him follow in their footsteps with a lucrative new contract, or Man City could look into increasing his package of add-ons and bonuses, according to the report.
So far this season, the Norway international has only been unable to score in one Premier League game, shattering multiple records along the road to his 11-goal tally.
