Manchester City forward Julian Alvarez has been linked to Atletico Madrid for a number of weeks.
It looks like negotiations have started in the last week and some even claim that an agreement has been reached, reports Football Espana.
The 24-year-old is eager to leave Manchester for more playing time and family reasons and it seems like negotiations have picked up steam in the last 24 hours.
Ole in Argentina has stated that a deal has been agreed upon, while sources in Europe indicate that negotiations have been more intense in the past 24 hours.
They changed their first report from €70 million to €80 million with variables added, which was supposed to represent the cost for City plus an additional €20 million.
In addition, they indicate that Alvarez would keep all of his image rights—as opposed to the 75% he presently receives from City—retailing 100% of them.

Joao Felix is reportedly being evaluated as a potential source of money for the Alvarez transaction.
Although Aston Villa has expressed interest, they are not overly hopeful that they will receive the €60 million that they have set as their asking price.
Ole adds that Alvarez would like to go to Madrid in part because some of his family members’ visas to England are about to expire after two years.
If deal goes through, Atletico will have made a huge coup by adding one of the top forwards in the world with a proven scoring streak. Alvarez would be the first forward to join with Atletico with the prestige to play for any team in the world since Joao Felix arrived.
