Man City Announce Marmoush Transfer Following PSG Defeat

Manchester City have officially confirmed the arrival of Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt.

According to Sky Sports, City paid an initial fee of £59m (€70m) plus a further £4.2m (€5m) in bonuses.

After scoring 15 goals in 17 games for the Bundesliga team this season, the Egypt international joins on a four-and-a-half-year contract. He is City’s third January transfer window acquisition after Vitor Reis and Abdukodir Khusanov.

Marmoush, who joined Frankfurt on a free transfer from Wolfsburg in July 2023, arrived at City after just 18 months.

“I’m so happy to be here,” he said. “Manchester City is one of the biggest clubs in the world over the past 10 years, so it was not a question.

“It is an honour the club showed an interest in me and now I’m here. The last two seasons have been great, but it is just the beginning for me.”

Marmoush, who can play in any position in the front three, has contributed to more goals this season than any other player in the Bundesliga, including Harry Kane.

“I’ve played many positions. For the national team I am playing left wing most of the time. At my former club, I was playing No 9, sometimes at 10 and also an eight,” added Marmoush.

“My main strength I would say is that I always want to win – that is from a character point of view.

“On the pitch, I am fast, good on the ball, I try to see where the spaces are and exploit the spaces – and I’m dangerous.”
