Manchester City have reportedly seen a financial boost handed to them by UEFA after sending more players to international tournaments and qualification fixtures than any other club in Europe.
The disbursement of a substantial £200 million fund from UEFA’s Club Benefits Programme, which is intended to compensate clubs for releasing players to national team tournaments, was disclosed today.
The payments are related to the 2020–2024 tournament cycle, which includes the 2022–24 European Qualifiers, the 2020–21 and 2022–23 Nations Leagues, and Euro 2024.
The postponed Euro 2020 competition, which was held in the summer of 2021, is not included.

In addition to Rodri, who won Euro 2024, City had 14 representatives at that point, including three English finalists, a Dutch semi-finalist, and six quarter-finalists.
In addition, the Cityzens had four players at the 2021 Nations League finals, three in the 2023 edition, and other players participating in qualification.
UEFA has officially confirmed totals for 901 different clubs throughout Europe, with no team earning more than City. Compensation is given to clubs equally for each player released for a Nations League or European Qualifying match, plus a set amount per player every day during Euro 2024.
According to Manchester Evening News, the Sky Blues collect a staggering €5,173,310.82 from the fund (£4,444,132.66), topping all domestic and European opponents across the same period. Next on the Premier League list were Arsenal (£3.34m), Liverpool (£3.04m), and Manchester United (£2.71m).
Real Madrid got £4.11m from the massive fund, while Barcelona take £3.8m and Bayern Munich get £3.75m. Other big earners were Paris Saint-Germain (£3.8m) and Inter Milan (£4m).
