Manchester City are reportedly eyeing a move for Nottingham Forest midfielder, Morgan Gibbs-White ahead of the 2025 summer transfer window.
Forest are said to be willing to offer the 23-year-old a significant pay-rise in order to fend off interest from City.
The most well-known Forest player in recent memory is Gibbs-White. He became their first player to represent England since Stuart Pearce in 1997.
After five goals and ten assists for the Tricky Trees last season and an assist in the opening match of this season’s top flight, the Three Lions berth was well-earned.
The Englishman is obviously the target of some top clubs in the Premier league. Although Gibbs-White has previously been linked to Tottenham, HITC as claimed by Football 365, stated that City—a much bigger club—are interested in him.
The Premier League defending champions are believed to have been creating a “detailed dossier” and are “keeping close tabs” on him.
However, Forest are ready to hang onto their star and are prepared to spend a lot of money to make sure he remains put.
In fact, according to the report, the seventh-place Premier League team are prepared to negotiate a new contract with Gibbs-White.

It is thought that Nuno Espirito Santo promoted those discussions. Although the midfielder’s current contract expires in 2027, a new agreement would be more about elevating his stature in the league he plays in than it would be about extending his stay.
According to reports, Forest are still eager to succeed and want Gibbs-White to stay. Therefore they are willing to give him a “substantial pay-rise” to compensate for his England international status.
