According to Fabrizio Romano, the English champions and Palmeiras have verbally agreed a fee for Reis, their top defender. The 19-year-old is expected to join Pep Guardiola’s team right away, and City want to finish the necessary paperwork as quickly as possible. The agreed sum for the player is said to be under £40 million.
As soon as the Cityzens and Palmeiras formally agree on the transfer, Reis will take a plane to Manchester for his medical before signing the contract.
The teenage defender made 33 appearances in all competitions during the 2024 Brazilian Serie A season, including 18 in the league, as his team finished second to champions Botafogo.

Before being signed by Palmeiras in 2016, the teenager began playing football in Robinho’s R10 program.
Reis has frequently been likened to his countryman Marquinhos as a superbly controlled central defense commander who is extremely at ease with the ball.
The teenager has also acknowledged that he has based his style of play on the Brazil and Paris Saint-Germain captain.
Guardiola’s team will return to action on Tuesday night when they travel to play Brentford in the Premier League.
