Manchester City have reportedly set a condition for Barcelona in order to allow Joao Cancelo leave for another loan spell to the Catalan club.
According to Barca Universal, Cancelo is expected to be loaned to Barca, with the requirement that they purchase him for £25 million at the conclusion of the loan term.
Cancelo’s future has previously been discussed between City and Barcelona. These negotiations don’t seem to be going well because Pep Guardiola’s side want a transfer fee of £25 million.
The 30-year-old reportedly wants to stay with the Blaugrana club. City are also willing to let him go as well because they don’t think he will be a part of their long-term plans.
The Premier League champions made it apparent that, should the price they demand be met, they will not allow him to leave. In addition, should Cancelo’s situation not be rectified following the Euros, they may even invite him to join them on their tour of the United States.
With three years remaining on his contract, the Portugal international is even willing to take a pay cut from his current £180,000 weekly salary (roughly €210,000) in order to facilitate the deal.
Cancelo’s agent, Jorge Mendes, was informed recently by City’s management that an agreement is possible.

They did, however, emphasize that a transfer agreement is necessary because they have received other offers for Cancelo.
Cancelo is currently in Spain on loan through June 30. If a transfer doesn’t occur, he will still have three seasons left with City, as his contract runs through 2027.
