Manchester City defender, Kyle Walker has reportedly opened up on what transpired between him and Arsenal set-piece coach, Nicolas Jover after he failed to shake hands with him following City’s Premier League loss against the Gunners.
The Cityzens’ poor form continued as they lost to Arsenal 1-0 in a disappointing match prior to the international break. The late, deflected goal by Gabriel Martinelli gave the home team a crucial win in the Premier League title chase.
After losing to Wolves unexpectedly and losing to Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup, it was Pep Guardiola’s team’s third straight domestic loss. After the end of proceedings, tempers flared as Walker, accompanied by Erling Haaland and Jack Grealish, clashed with Jover.
What Did Walker Say About The Incident?
According to Manchester Evening News, Walker has now given his own account of what transpired, acknowledging that his actions were “too much,” and he plans to get in touch with Jover. “I don’t like losing,” Walker explained on international duty.
“A couple of matches before, Nico, who worked for Man City, and he did not want to shake hands when we beat them before. When we lost, he wanted to shake my hand and I did not take it lightly. Simple as that.
“I haven’t been in touch but I have been concentrating on England but I will probably reach out to him, definitely. I will say, it was probably a bit too much.
“It shows the standards I have achieved and what I have learnt over the years, it is a big match there and losing in the way we did and so late on hurts. But if it did not hurt I am probably at the wrong club as we are title contenders.”

City will hope to put their recent disappointment behind them as they welcome Brighton and Hove Albion immediately after the international break.
Arsenal, on the other hand, will be aiming to extend their good run of form as they travel to Stamford Bridge for a London derby fixture against Chelsea.
