Despite Liverpool and Arsenal giving Manchester City the upper hand after shocking losses last weekend, Bernardo Silva maintains that the reigning champions winning the Premier League is anything but a done deal.
After crushing Luton 5-1, Pep Guardiola’s unstoppable winning machine moved menacingly to the top and delighted Crystal Palace and Aston Villa defeated their closest rivals.
Few would have predicted City to win the league with just six games left and a two-point lead, setting a record for an unprecedented fourth league title in a row.
A back-to-back treble is still possible. But Silva cautioned that things could drastically change again in a matter of days ahead of tomorrow night’s second leg of the Champions League quarterfinal against Real Madrid.
“It was obviously a very good weekend for us, I’m not going to deny that because personally I wasn’t expecting both teams to drop points,” said Silva as reported by The Metro.
“Before we didn’t depend only on ourselves so we had to do our job and wait for them to drop points.
“Now the situation has changed a bit because we just depend on ourselves because if we do our job properly we win the Premier League so happy with the results and not going to deny that.
