Manchester City defender, Joao Cancelo is reportedly waiting for Barcelona to launch an official bid amid interest from Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Pro League side, Al Hilal are attempting to conclude a deal for the City defender, who has entirely lost favor with Pep Guardiola.
According to TBR Football, Cancelo is open minded as regards a move to the Saudi team. But if a deal could be worked out, he would like to return to Barcelona.
Cancelo played effectively during his loan spell with the Catalan outfit last season, contributing five assists and four goals in all competitions.
Though a deal cannot now move further due to Barca’s persistent financial problems, manager Hansi Flick is open to the 30-year-old rejoining the team.
Cancelo is said to be holding off on accepting the Saudi offer to see if Barcelona can work out a different loan arrangement.
Cancelo’s time at the Etihad Stadium is over. The Portugal international has fallen out of Guardiola’s plans. City now intend to let him go this summer.
The 30-year-old, who City purchased for £60 million in 2019, has been informed that he will not be playing in the Premier League and should depart within the next week.

Cancelo would want to go back to Spain, but there is growing pressure on him to accept the move to Saudi.
According to ESPN, the former Juventus star has received an offer from Al Hilal for a three-year deal for about £15 million a season.
