Manchester City defender, Joao Cancelo is reportedly edging closer to a move to Barcelona as the deal is purportedly progressing well.
Last season, the Portuguese right-back was loaned to Bayern Munich after a dispute with City manager Pep Guardiola.
The 29-year-old is not in Guardiola’s plans and has always been anticipated to depart the Premier League champions prior to the end of the transfer window. Even though he returned to the Etihad during preseason when his loan in Germany came to an end.
Fabrizio Romano as cited by Four Four Two claims that City and Barcelona have been in advanced negotiations for a deal that might be confirmed this week.
Cancelo has been a target of the Catalan club for some time. And the player is reportedly eager to play again in La Liga, where he formerly represented Valencia.
Jules Kounde, a French defender has frequently played at the right back since he joined the team from Sevilla last season. He would be able to play more frequently in his natural position as a result of his recruitment.
