Manchester City have reportedly missed out on signing Fulham defender, Antonee Robinson after the player signs a contract extension with the club.
On Friday, Football Insider reported that 25-year-old Robinson has signed a new five-year contract. The Cottagers later that evening verified the report.
The left-back has attracted considerable interest over the past 12 months, which is the backdrop to this contract agreement.
Before Robinson committed to stay with Fulham, it was claimed that clubs such as Man City, Newcastle, and Wolves were all interested in making a move for him.
According to a reliable source, two Italian clubs, AC Milan and Inter Milan have a long-term interest in the American international.
His contributions for the Cottagers after returning to the Premier League attracted interest. But Marco Silva’s team attempted to fend off interest by committing him into a new contract.
Robinson’s existing contract, which was reportedly paying him only £25,000 a week, was due to end in June 2024.
He made 38 appearances in all competitions, provided one assist. And helped the Cottagers finish in 10th position to secure their place in the Premier League.
The left-back was a standout for the US team at the World Cup in Qatar. He played every minute up until their Round of 16 loss to the Netherlands.
