Man City Willing To Offer Huge Bid For Arsenal And Chelsea Target

Manchester City have reportedly identified Crystal Palace youngster, Michael Olise as a possible summer transfer target. The Cityzens are said to be willing to cough out £50 million for Olise ahead of the 2023/24 Premier League season.

After letting Riyad Mahrez to leave the Etihad last week to sign for Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli in a deal for up to £30 million. City may aim for reinforcement in the wide attacking areas.

Mahrez, who featured in 47 games and scored 15 goals for City last season, will be a significant loss for the European champions.

The 32-year-old’s departure, according to The Athletic as cited by Manchester World, “means City are searching for a replacement winger”. And the club have named Olise as their top target. Due to his young age (21) and the fact that he is considered a homegrown player, the Palace star is seen as desirable.

The source adds that City might not want to spend more than £50 million. A figure Palace are not anticipated to consent to for one of the league’s most promising young players.

After moving to Selhurst Park in 2021, Olise has played 71 times for the Eagles. Last term, the Frenchman took on a more significant role for Palace.

Only three players—Kevin De Bruyne, Mohamed Salah, and Leandro Trossard—provided more assists than Olise (11) over the club’s final 18 games of the season.

Olise has drawn interest from Arsenal as well, according to 90min. But Chelsea are ‘sure’ they have won the race to get him. The report also added that the former Reading player might only cost £35m, as opposed to The Athletic.
