This was a significant turn of events for the hosts after the losses in back-to-back games.
Sancho, who displayed ice-cold calm to trick James Milner and score from inside the area, propelled them to the lead.
Then, in the second half, Rashford broke his scoreless streak by edging the offside flag and putting the ball past Alisson.

Mohamed Salah did manage to give Liverpool a goal back with 9 minutes left, but United were able to cling on for a much-needed victory.
With a loss, Man United would have dropped to last place, but they now sit above Liverpool in position 14.

How Did The Fans React?
This win would no doubt grant every United fan a very peaceful night. With the abysmal start to the season, many have been left frustrated.
Initially, the fans had planned to stage a massive protest against the Glazers. However this win will put to rest all agitations, at least for now.
Some took to social media to voice their pleasure and joy at the win and players. Praises were also reserved for coach Ten Hag too.
Amazing team performance from United, the movement in the final third, the way they worked for each other and pressed from the front. Haven’t seen them play like that for at least a year. Huge credit to Ten Hag and the players. I wonder how they did it.

– Tactically, Ten Hag has identified Liverpool’s weak point.
– Psychologically, he has motivated a group of players who were a shambles last week.
– And he’s shown the leadership to make two massive calls over Maguire & Ronaldo.
