Manchester United and England defender Chris Smalling has been hospitalised with minor injuries in Bali after a reported accident on holiday.
The 26-year-old centre back flew out to Bali for a holiday after England’s ignominious exit from Euro 2016 following last week’s 2-1 defeat to Iceland.
Smalling, was taken to Bali Royal hospital today in the popular high-end tourist area of Ubud.
A photograph of the defender, who is staying at the luxury Como Shambhala spa resort, was being circulated on social media today of him signing a fan’s shirt with his head wrapped in bandages.
Unconfirmed reports on social media said that Smalling was ‘attempting to surf’ when he sustained the injuries.
When approached for comment, Manchester United said they are looking into the incident.
