Man United Forced To Change Plans For Dorgu Transfer

Manchester United have reportedly been forced to push back the medical examination of Patrick Dorgu ahead of his impending move from Lecce.

As a Left-back, it is anticipated that Dorgu, who can also play on the right, will contribute to balance down the left as the team adjusts to Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-3 formation.

If all goes according to plan, the Denmark international will sign for almost £30 million before the transfer deadline on Monday night.

So far, Amorim has been forced to make do with improvisation down the left. In Thursday’s Europa League victory over FCSB, right-back Diogo Dalot, who has been a consistent pick in his unfamiliar position, scored his first goal of the season.

Since the team is still awaiting Dorgu, Dalot might be used once more on Sunday when United play Crystal Palace in the Premier League. The most recent updates indeed indicate that things are taking a good deal longer than anticipated.

According to the Daily Mail, Dorgu will now just travel to England for the weekend. The report further claims that contracts and related paperwork were not signed in time to expedite the completion of medical testing.

Amorim’s first acquisition since taking over at Old Trafford in November will be the 20-year-old.

There were concerns going into the January transfer window about whether United would have to sell before making a purchase. However, Antony’s loan move to Real Betis has helped reduce the wage bill.
