Newcastle United forwards, Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson are injury doubts ahead of the Magpies’ Premier League clash against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Wednesday.
Isak was feeling under the weather, and Wilson missed Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion due to illness. With 20 minutes left, the Swede, who had been leading the line at St. James’ Park, was forced to pull out.
According to Newcastle World, despite not having trained this week, Newcastle manager, Eddie Howe is hoping that on Tuesday they will.
“We’ll see,” Howe said on Wilson. “We haven’t seen Callum. We’ll see if he’s available to train today. If not I’m sure he’ll be fit for Brentford.”
On Isak, Howe added: “Illness. I don’t think it’s a serious illness. He didn’t train yesterday so again, we’ll see if he trains today – fingers crossed he will. But yeah, he wasn’t feeling 100% and I think you could see that.
“He’s been so good in recent weeks athletically as well as technically and all the goals that he’s scored. We knew on Friday he was slightly under the weather.”

Howe says he will “wait and see” if Fabian Schar is able to travel to Old Trafford. Due to a hamstring injury, Schar has missed the last two games against Brighton and Burnley.
“He’s working his way back,” Howe said. “He’s in a mix at the moment between training and being with the medical staff. He’s making good progress from his hamstring problem so we’ll wait and see if he’s available.”
