Man United Hit By Major Injury Scare As Fernandes Worrying Picture Emerges

Manchester United have reportedly been hit by a major injury scare ahead of the clash against Arsenal after Bruno Fernandes was seen wearing an ice pack following their 4-0 win over Everton on Sunday.

On Sunday, Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee each scored twice as Ruben Amorim’s team crushed the Toffees, and Fernandes was instrumental with two assists. It was a great afternoon at Old Trafford. Amorim’s first Premier League victory puts United in ninth place.

But as the game came to a close, Fernandes gave United serious concern when he hobbled off and was seen with an ice pack wrapped over his ankle. Alejandro Garnacho took the Portuguese’s place, and after walking to the dugout, the United medical team examined and gave him an ice pack.

According to Manchester Evening News, concerns have been raised about Fernandes’ availability for Wednesday’s match against Arsenal since he appeared “frustrated” after being substituted out.

It would only be the second time since joining United in January 2020 that the 30-year-old has missed a game because of injury if he does not travel to North London.

Fernandes has made 252 appearances in nearly five years since leaving Sporting CP, demonstrating his exceptional level of fitness.

Speaking about his incredible injury record back in March, Fernandes said: “I just have to be grateful for my father and my mum because they made me the right way, the strong way.

“They’ve been here for the last two games and they give me that extra energy, with my kids and my wife, they always take care of me. My wife does a great job at home to give me as much rest as I can.”
