Manchester United have held talks with Mino Raiola, the agent of AC Milan’s highly-rated goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, Calciomercato have revealed.
Donnarumma, who recently turned 18, now has the option to sign a contract for longer than three years and many of Europe’s top clubs have begun to take notice.
An ever-present in the Milan side this season, the goalkeeper has enhanced his growing reputation with a string of fine performances, which has kept the Italian giants in and around the European places in Serie A.
Agent Raiola has been quoted on numerous occasions expressing doubts about AC Milan though, recently saying that he wanted his client to play for a great club, not necessarily a great Milan.
Manchester United’s interest in Donnarumma stems from the fact current No.1 David de Gea could leave for Real Madrid.
However, if United were planning to land the AC Milan keeper on the cheap then they are badly mistaken, as reports suggest the Italian club will not accept anything less than £42m.
