Manchester United are reportedly on the negotiation table with Paris Saint-Germain for midfielder Manuel Ugarte.
The Red Devils have already announced the transfer arrival of Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna. They are also on the verge of confirming the deal of Leny Yoro from LOSC Lille.
Now, according to Sky Sports as reported by Football Talk, United have opened talks with PSG over a transfer for Ugarte.
The report makes no mention of the asking price. But The Guardian previously reported that signing the Uruguayan could cost £38 million.
Prior to the upcoming season, United need to reinforce their number 6 position. In his second season at the club, Casemiro had consistency issues and injuries, and it’s possible that he’s already passed his prime.
In an attempt to find a solution, Sofyan Amrabat was brought in on loan from Fiorentina last summer. But the Premier League’s heightened intensity proved too much for the Moroccan. Despite a strong campaign finale, the club have not yet decided whether to sign him permanently.

According to Fabrizio Romano, PSG are negotiating an enormous deal to lure in Benfica midfielder, Joao Neves. United should be optimistic about their chances of obtaining Ugarte if the Parisiens manage to negotiate a deal for the teenager.
This summer, United might have to sell Casemiro or McTominay in order to pay for Ugarte. The club may try to sign Ugarte on a loan with a mandatory clause if they don’t get any good transfer offers for the two players.
