Manchester United are reportedly in a three-way fight with Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich in a bid to land Joao Felix in January.
The 23-year-old has struggled to make an impression for the Red and Whites this season, only managing four goals and three assists in 18 appearances across all competitions.
Felix is under contract at Wanda Metropolitano until June 2026, but it is known that his relationship with Atletico Madrid head coach Diego Simeone has soured.
The Spanish club’s inability to qualify for the knockout round of the Champions League or the Europa League has supposedly produced major financial problems, which could lead to the sale of important players in January.
Felix is expected to be available for transfer during the winter transfer window.
According to AS, Manchester United are keen on signing the Portugal international, who could be available for over €100m (£86m) at the start of 2023.
According to the article, the Red Devils will face stiff competition from Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain for his signature next year.
Felix is currently representing Portugal at the 2022 World Cup, and he scored in his team’s opening match against Ghana.

Meanwhile, since joining Atletico from Benfica in July 2019, he has appeared 129 times in all competitions, scoring 33 goals and providing 18 assists.
Due to Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent departure, Manchester United will be looking for a new attacker next year, with the club reportedly attempting to bring in a new player in the winter market.
Former Atletico Madrid and Manchester United forward Diego Forlan reportedly pushed Felix to leave Wanda Metropolitano in the near future in order to “improve his performance.”
