Man United Join Arsenal In Race To Sign Player With £62.5M Release Clause

Manchester United are reportedly set to rival Arsenal for the services of Wolverhampton Wanderers forward, Matheus Cunha.

With a £62.5 million release clause, the Wolves attacker is being pursued by both Manchester United and Arsenal.

According to talkSPORT, Ruben Amorim’s Man United are expected to increase their attempts this summer to sign the Brazilian forward from Wolves.

The Red Devils’ interest in signing Cunha is not surprising given that Amorim is in charge of the team.

Cunha’s style is said to be something that Amorim greatly admires, especially his ability to play in the 3-4-2-1 settings that the Portuguese coach has used.

What particularly appeals about Cunha in that situation is his adaptability. He can play as a second striker, which is something United really need, in addition to being a regular striker.

However, it appears that Arsenal are more interested in other targets, such as Nico Williams or Viktor Gyökeres, even though they are reportedly monitoring the situation.

That implies that Cunha may not be their top priority but rather a secondary option.

Nottingham Forest are also expressing interest in landing the Premier League attacker but despite their potential involvement in the Champions League next season, they would find it tough to contend against Man United and Arsenal in the race to sign the attacker.
