Former Manchester United Star, Nicky Butt has reportedly been banned from driving after hitting a biker and ultimately breaking his leg.
At the Blackburn Magistrates’ Court, it was revealed that on October 17, 2022, former Red Devils player Butt was driving his Land Rover Defender when he picked up his kid from Burnley’s Gawthorpe training base.
According to Lancashire Telegraph, Adam Fielding’s motorcycle and his 2.3-ton automobile crashed as he entered Burnley Road with the intention of turning right towards Padiham.
Mr. Fielding required surgery to implant metal rods in his leg after suffering a shattered femur.
He said that he was still in excruciating agony nearly two years after the incident. That he was unable to continue working as a supervisor at Screwfix, and that he thought he had developed a painkiller addiction.
He said that his social life was constrained and that he could no longer engage in activities he loved, like riding his motorcycle, going camping, and hiking.
Butt, who also played for Newcastle United and earned 39 England caps, apologized in a letter that stated he was still thinking about the incident and the effect it must have had on Mr. Fielding.
The co-owner of Salford City said that although he had wished to visit the victim face-to-face, the police had told him it was inappropriate.
Butt, 49, of Cavendish Road, Bowdon, Altrincham, entered a guilty plea to reckless driving causing serious injury.
