Man United Legend Makes Relegation Shout To Amorim

Manchester United icon, Paul Parker has warned that his old team would be forced into a relegation fight.

United are presently 13th in the Premier League, 12 points above the drop zone, and closer to the bottom three than the top four after losing five of their previous six home games.

In their 24 league games this season, Ruben Amorim’s side have only managed to score 28 goals, and they were unable to acquire a striker during the most recent transfer window.

In light of this, Parker, a former United defender, believes Ruben Amorim and his underperforming players could be forced into a survival struggle.

The Red Devils were last relegated from the top division in 1974. However, according to The Mirror, Parker expressed concern that if they don’t get their act together soon, the current team may end up in a similar situation.

“I just can’t think of anything positive to say about United at this moment in time,” said Parker.

“Everything’s just at such a low level. Unless things pick up quickly with the people who are there, it could get worse and worse.

“I still can’t rule out saying that Manchester United could be in a relegation battle this season – that’s how bad things have been.”

“I could say that quite a few players need to be dropped from the Manchester United side, but who does Ruben Amorim replace them with?

“It’s like turning round and saying your Ferrari’s not been performing well and you want to use your other car, but that other car is a Ford Focus – you’re always going to stick with the Ferrari and hope at some point that it’s going to give you a good run.”
