Manchester United are reportedly willing to consider offers for Mason Greenwood on a temporary basis in this summer transfer window.
Erik ten Hag looks increasingly confident he will retain the Greenwood in the long-term. The 21-year-old is not part of the Red Devils’ preseason tour team for the United States and the club is currently looking into him internally.
Despite the Crown Prosecution Service dropping their attempted rape, assault, and coercive control behavior accusations against Greenwood in February of this year, he still hasn’t played for United since January 2022.
Instead, the Red Devils have claimed that they would conduct their own internal inquiry. Before making a decision about whether or not their academy graduate will ever return to the team.
Although there has been consultation with players and personnel from both the men’s and women’s teams, no conclusion has been made.
According to The Athletic, Greenwood is still prohibited from returning to training. And United are seriously ‘looking at prospective loan deals’ for the versatile forward.
Serie A club, Atalanta have downplayed the possibility that Man United offered them the chance to sign the England player during talks for Rasmus Hojlund, a striker target.
Greenwood may have a future at the club if United simply wants to let him leave on a temporary basis rather than permanently.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Ten Hag, who has reportedly been reluctant to permit the forward to depart permanently, may find the decision to be melody to his ears.
Given that Ten Hag has asked for two forwards, a marquee No. 9 and a young player this summer. It is still unclear whether the choice will also affect the number of players United sign in that position.
