Statistics have proved that Manchester United perform better when Juan Mata starts compared to when he doesn’t.
The Red Devils suffered a huge 4-0 defeat away to Chelsea on Sunday afternoon which kick-started yet more pressure from the media on Jose Mourinho, who has struggled at United so far.
Despite spending over £150 million in the summer, Man United find themselves in seventh place in the Premier League and have suffered three defeats already.
Mata started on the bench again yesterday for the fourth time this season and, once again, Man Utd lost.

The Spaniard’s future was highly disputed at the start of the season with many wondering if Mourinho would keep him at the club.
Based on those figures, he’d be silly not to considering when Mata has started the Red Devils have Leicester City, Hull City, Southampton and Bournemouth.
Without the midfielder, though, United have lost to Manchester City, Watford and now Chelsea after he came on as a second-half substitute at Stamford Bridge.
