Manchester United are reportedly planning to build a new stadium which will hold up to 100,ooo fans.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the new minority owner, has always expressed his intention to construct a “Wembley of the North.”
Plans to revitalize the area were once made public in February, the club declared that they were trying to upgrade the current ground.
The issues at Old Trafford are well known, and in recent years, supporters have been pleading for renovations.
Among the problems found were a leaky ceiling, claustrophobic concourses, little legroom, crumbling concrete, and flaking paint.
Nonetheless, it’s said that the Red Devils are eager to move forward with their plan to construct a whole new stadium.
And according to talkSPORT, they want to construct the largest stadium in the United Kingdom—at an estimated cost of £2 billion—to accommodate 10,000 more spectators than Wembley should they receive permission to move to a new Old Trafford.
Given that they possess land next to their current residence, United think it is feasible to start from scratch when establishing a new location.
Additionally, the first team would be able to play at Old Trafford rather than anywhere else, which would be a big benefit to the team.
When Tottenham moved from White Hart Lane, they were compelled to play at Wembey from 2017 to 2019.
