Man United Ready To Activate Palace Star’s Transfer Release Clause

Manchester United are reportedly ready to start their squad overhaul with the signing of Crystal Palace winger, Michael Olise in the summer transfer window.

Chelsea showed interest in France under-21 international Olise during the summer. He made the decision to stay at Selhurst Park, signing a new contract with Palace and making a significant contribution this year, despite missing the beginning of the season due to injury.

After that, Chelsea focused on other targets, and at the end of the transfer window, they finalized a £42.5 million deal for Cole Palmer. Nevertheless, Olise is still in demand, and United are expected to fulfill his release clause when it expires at the end of the current campaign.

Olise’s signing could signal the start of a change at Old Trafford after Sir Jim Ratcliffe invested £1.3 billion for a 25% share in the team. Numerous reports stated Chelsea met the £35 million clause in August, but the release clause is reportedly closer to £60 million.

The Evening Standard has reported that Olise will be among United’s first acquisitions under the Ratcliffe regime. But, it is not anticipated that they will make a move for the 22-year-old in January.

The links appear at a time when concerns are raised about United’s attacking options. Only Burnley and Sheffield United have scored fewer goals in 20 games than Erik ten Hag’s team.

And they are believed to let Anthony Martial and Jadon Sancho go either in January or at the end of the campaign.

After suffering a hamstring injury during the summer’s European Under-21 Championships, Olise was sidelined for the beginning of the season.

However, in his nine Eagles games since his return in November, he has scored an impressive five goals.
