Manchester United are edging closer to officially confirming the arrival of Paul Pogba after a fee was finally agreed with Juventus for the player’s services, according to reports.
A deal for the France midfielder has been heavily speculated all summer with the Red Devils keen on bringing the 23-year-old back to Old Trafford four years after he left for Italy.
A move has been discussed for a while now but according to the Telegraph, United could finally be set to get their man with a fee for Pogba now reported to have been agreed.
According to the newspaper, the fee will comfortably surpass the world record amount that Real Madrid paid to Tottenham in 2013 for Gareth Bale, meaning that Pogba is set to become the most expensive player in football history.
Manager Jose Mourinho claimed on prior to Wayne Rooney’s testimonial game against Everton that Man United will make a fourth signing, and it now appears the Red Devils are now close to sealing the deal.
The report claims that United could announce the deal for Pogba before the midfielder undergoes a medical and signs his contract, which could happen before Sunday’s Community Shield match with Leicester City.
Signing Pogba would be a massive move of intent from Mourinho and United as they look to return Premier League glory to Old Trafford.
