Man United ‘Set To Allow Aaron Wan-Bissaka Leave In January’

Manchester United are reportedly expecting Aaron Wan-Bissaka to leave the club in January and are considering their options for replacing the right-back.

The 25-year-old is presently with the Red Devils squad in Spain for their mid-season training camp, and he started Wednesday’s 4-2 loss to Cadiz before being replaced at halftime.

Wan-Bissaka has only appeared in four competitive games for Erik ten Hag’s side this season, with Diogo Dalot regarded as the undisputed first-choice right-back at Old Trafford.

The former Crystal Palace teenager has missed time due to injury, but he has not even been named to a Premier League team since the end of August’s 1-0 win over Southampton.

Wan-Bissaka was heavily linked with a move away this summer, with Palace reportedly interested in re-signing the player they sold to Manchester United for about £50m in the summer of 2019.

The defender ultimately stayed at Old Trafford, but he is no longer in Ten Hag’s plans, and according to 90min, the Red Devils are preparing for his departure at the start of 2023.

Wan-Bissaka, who is under contract with Manchester until the summer of 2024, was demoted to right-back following the resignation of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as manager in November 2021.

The Englishman has made 127 appearances for Man United in all competitions, scoring twice and dishing out 10 assists along the way. However, he may have just played his last match for the club at this point.

According to the report, Manchester United are considering his replacement options, which include Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong and Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries.

Celtic’s Josip Juranovic and Lyon’s Malo Gusto are also thought to be targets, however it remains to be seen how much Man United are willing to spend in January, especially given the possibility of bringing in a new forward.
