Man United Set To Replace Onana With ‘Championship Keeper’

According to reports, Man United is getting close to making a surprise move for a Championship goalkeeper.

Shoot claims that Man United is hoping to reach an agreement this summer to buy Preston North End goalkeeper Freddie Woodman on a free transfer.

In his early years, the 28-year-old played for both Newcastle United and Crystal Palace. Since then, he has represented six different teams, including Swansea City, Hartlepool United, and Kilmarnock.

Since joining Preston in the summer of 2022, Woodman has made 138 appearances for the team in all competitions while recording 44 clean sheets.

However, the goalie’s contract with Preston is about to end this summer, and it appears that he will be leaving Deepdale.

According to rumors, United wants to recruit Woodman as a free agent to fill the spot presently held by Tom Heaton, as their third-choice goalkeeper in the team.

Andre Onana has had a dismal individual season and has been strongly linked to leaving Old Trafford.

As a result, Amorim and the people in charge of hiring for United may be in charge of a big shift in the goalkeeping division this summer.
