Manchester United defender, Harry Maguire is reportedly willing to continue his career at the club irrespective of who is in charge from next season.
Following the Red Devils defeat of Manchester City in the FA Cup final, Erik ten Hag’s future at Old Trafford is still uncertain.
Although the club has not yet provided an official statement, there were rumors circulating prior to the game suggesting that the Dutchman was going to be fired regardless of the result.
Despite the uncertainty, according to the Sun as reported by The Mirror, Maguire is adamant about sticking with the 13-time Premier League champions.
With one year left on his current deal, the former Leicester City man will talk to the club executives this summer about his future.
The 31-year-old, who originally signed for the club in 2019 for £85 million, is eager to stay as long as he is needed. According to reports, United have the option to extend his contract through 2026.
Maguire went through difficult times after Ten Hag’s appointment in 2022. Following Lisandro Martinez’s arrival, the defender struggled to get playing time and was relieved of his captaincy duties in the last summer.
Although Maguire didn’t make his 2023/24 Premier League start until October last year, a series of injuries made sure he was a key player. In the end, Maguire made 31 appearances during the season despite suffering from a calf injury.
