Manchester United forward, Joshua Zirkzee has reportedly travelled to the city of Liverpool to wish and support his former club, Bologna ahead of their UEFA Champions League clash against the Reds at Anfield.
In the summer, the 23-year-old moved from Bologna to United for a reported €45 million with substantial add-ons.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport as reported by Football Italia, the Netherlands international traveled 35 miles west from Manchester to Liverpool on Tuesday night. He spent about an hour with his former teammates before their historic Champions League matchup at around 21.30 local time.
Before traveling, Zirkzee got approval from his present employers at United.
Bologna will play their first away Champions League or European Cup match since the 1964–1965 season’s preliminary rounds.
Zirkzee scored 11 goals and provided five assists as Bologna finished fifth with 68 points last season. Helping the Rossoblu under Thiago Motta make a successful comeback to Europe.

Bologna had their best league performance since 1971 by finishing in fifth place. They then took advantage of Serie A’s extra spot in Europe’s premier club competition to test their mettle against the top clubs on the continent.
In the new league phase of the competition, the Serie A club are currently on one point after a goalless draw at the wet Stadio Dell’Ara two weeks ago against Shakhtar Donetsk.
