Zlatan Ibrahimovic has claimed that he is just “warming up” amid claims of a move to Manchester United.
The striker concluded his Paris Saint-Germain career by scoring a brace in the club’s Coupe de France success against Marseille on Saturday.
Ibrahimovic has already revealed he will be leaving PSG when his contract expires at the end of next month, but it remains to be seen where his next destination will be.
Ibrahimovic told Eurosport: “When I arrived, I promised to take care of everything … that’s what I did.
“This group is very special, what we did the last three years is incredible. This club will miss it. I had one of my best seasons – I scored 50 goals [in the season] – I’m still warming up.
“I’m very happy. It was my last game with this fantastic team, a great group.”
Despite his advancing years, Ibrahimovic remains one of the standout forwards in world football, with the Sweden international having scored a staggering 38 goals in 31 Ligue 1 appearances this season.
Ibrahimovic is also hugely effective with regards to bringing others into play, as demonstrated by the fact that he created 45 chances in the league this season, with only two of his PSG team-mates bettering him in that regard.
The 34-year-old would surely relish the opportunity to work under Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford, with the Portuguese poised to replace Louis van Gaal at United according to reports.
United won’t be in the Champions League next season, but Ibrahimovic would surely still be eager to test himself in the Premier League, having thrived in several different countries.
Ibrahimovic has also been linked with a switch to MLS, with Bayern Munich touted as another possible option.
