Man United To Sell Top Star To Cover Cost Of Blockbuster Signing

Manchester United are reportedly looking at the possibility of selling Alejandro Garnacho in order to fund a move for Barcelona defender, Alejandro Balde ahead of the next summer transfer window.

With a pivotal matchup against 14th-place Tottenham on Sunday, the Red Devils, who are currently in 13th place in the Premier League standings, continue their poor display this season.

After replacing Erik ten Hag in November, United have not improved under new manager Ruben Amorim. The Red Devils have only won four of their 14 Premier League games under the Portuguese coach.

With Joshua Zirkzee, Noussair Mazraoui, Matthijs de Ligt, Leny Yoro, and Manuel Ugarte joining, the Red Devils, who were then led by Erik ten Hag, spent almost £180 million on new players during the last summer window.

Several reports have stated that United are nearing their Premier League Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) cap, and in an attempt to balance the books, the Red Devils are even thinking about selling young players like Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo.

According to Football 365, the Old Trafford giants “want to sell” Garnacho “to cover the cost of a blockbuster signing”—Balde, a left-back for Barcelona.

Man United are reportedly willing to part with Garnacho, an Argentina international, “whose sale could provide the necessary funds to complete the arrival of the left-back from Barca.”

Garnacho has performed well in stints off the bench, but he is having trouble securing a permanent spot in Amorim’s starting lineup. The Manchester United manager may try to look for players who are more suited to his system and style of play.
