Man United To Swoop For Argentina World Cup Winning Player

Following a recent injury to Casemiro, Manchester United are set to sign a more reliable replacement.

During the Red Devils’ 3-0 loss to Newcastle, the Brazilian pulled his hamstring, which is expected to keep him out of action for a few weeks.

In the 31-year-old’s absence, United defeated Fulham 1-0 on Saturday, but the team are apparently still eager to expand their options at the position.

According to Estadio Deportivo as reported by Daily Mail, Erik ten Hag’s side are mulling a move for Real Betis midfield maestro Guido Rodriguez.

The 29-year-old, who was a member of Argentina’s World Cup-winning team in December of last year, has an expiring deal that will allow him to start contract negotiations with clubs outside Spain in January.

Rodriguez is an important member of the La Liga team. He has started 11 of the team’s first 12 games, helping them have a strong start to the season and move up to sixth position.

Ten Hag’s midfield choices, which now include Christian Eriksen, Mason Mount, Scott McTominay, and summer recruit Sofyan Amrabat, would be enhanced by the addition of the defensive midfielder.

Rodriguez made his professional debut at River Plate and has been at Estadio Benito Villamarín since 2019. The midfield player also played for Club Tijuana and Club America in the Mexican top division.

Barcelona are believed to be interested in bringing him to Camp Nou as they concentrate their efforts on free agents and loan deals in light of their financial difficulties. Thus United will undoubtedly face competition for his signing.
