Manchester United and Tottenham have reportedly identified Brighton’s Evan Ferguson as a transfer target for the summer of 2024.
Ferguson had played for his club at the senior level at the age of 14 until he left Bohemians for the Amex Stadium in January 2021.
Despite being only 18 years old, Ferguson is currently recognized as one of the world’s most highly rated teenagers, having made a swift impact in the Premier League.
Ferguson has 10 goals and three assists from 25 appearances in all competitions, in addition to six goals and two assists in 821 minutes of top-flight action in 2022-23.
That level of impact has led to an increasing number of clubs becoming fans of a player who has three caps for Republic of Ireland.
Brighton were able to react by offering Ferguson a new long-term contract, tying him to the newcomers to European football until 2028.
However, Sky Sports News reports that the Seagulls shouldn’t expect interest in his signature to fade in the near or long term.
According to the report, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are already laying the foundation to recruit Ferguson during the 2024 summer transfer window.

Brighton are reportedly hoping that Ferguson could become a £100m+ player if he continues on his current path, which would take more than a year.
As things stand, that level of fee is unlikely to come from United or Tottenham, although both clubs are said to see Ferguson as a potential replacement in the center of their attack.
United manager Erik ten Hag is looking for at least one new signing this summer, with Anthony Martial potentially leaving Old Trafford and Wout Weghorst returning to parent club Burnley.
