Man United Wage Bill Revealed As Dorgu Among Lowest Earners

Manchester United’s wage bill has reportedly been revealed with figures showing new signing Patrick Dorgu among the lowest paid players at the club.

In the closing days of the transfer window, Dorgu joined from Italian outfit, Lecce costing them an estimated £29.2 million. He was one of two players acquired late in the transfer window, along with teenage center-back Ayden Heaven from Arsenal.

In order to apply his 3-4-3 system more successfully, head coach Ruben Amorim will now expect to have a solution to the left-sided dilemma.

In the Portuguese coach’s tenure, right-back Diogo Dalot frequently filled in down the left, with varying degrees of success.

During the winter transfer window, United cut some money from their wage budget, with Antony and Marcus Rashford both leaving on loan, even though the Red Devils continue to cover a portion of their pay packet.

However, according to The Athletic, Dorgu is set to be receiving a £40,000 weekly wage which places him far down the hierarchy. The amount is significantly less than what United would have likely had to pay other established targets.

United attempted to sign Alphonso Davies, whose contract expires in the summer, but the Canadian is expected to stay at Bayern Munich thanks to the promise of a new big-money deal.

This implies that Dorgu is paid less than Tom Heaton, the third-choice goalkeeper, according to The Mail.

After beginning the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final in February 2023, the three-cap England international has not played a minute for the first team since arriving as a backup in 2021.
