Man United Win Race To Sign Arsenal Starlet Following Contract Rejection

Manchester United have reportedly won the race to sign Arsenal teenage star, Chido Obi-Martin as the deal is said to be at an advanced stage.

After his schoolboy contract with Arsenal expired and he declined the opportunity to join them as a scholar, Obi-Martin is currently a free agent.

According to The Evening Standard, several teams, including Bayern Munich, have expressed interest in signing the 16-year-old striker. But United are hopeful that they can finalize a deal for him.

Given how brilliantly Obi-Martin played as a youth player, United will consider the purchase of the striker a coup.

After being promoted to play for Arsenal’s Under-18 team, he scored 32 goals for them during the season, including 10 goals in a match against Liverpool in the last campaign.

Obi-Martin will turn 17 in November and would have been a professional player if Arsenal had extended an offer to stay. But he has chosen to pursue his career in another team.

“I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to everyone at Arsenal for the past four years,” Obi Martin wrote on Instagram earlier this week.
