Man United Win Yoro Battle As Player Flies To UK For Medical

Manchester United have reportedly won the battle to sign LOSC Lille defender, Leny Yoro with the player flying to the United Kingdom for his medical examination.

The Lille starlet had previously expressed a strong desire to join Real Madrid this summer and had given the Spanish side precedence during talks.

But United have now been able to reach a £59 million (plus add-ons) deal with Lille, and have now accelerated the process.

The Athletic as reported by Daily Express claims that Yoro will shortly finalize his personal terms with United and go through a medical.

The 18-year-old’s contract with Lille expires next summer. And negotiations for an extension have been met with disinterest, thus Lille are eager to move away from him this summer.

The Ligue 1 club ‘strongly favor’ selling to United. And the player, who had not previously indicated a desire to move to Old Trafford when the arrangement was first approved, has also “warmed” to the notion of joining Erik ten Hag’s squad.

Although Yoro’s flight to England is a strong hint that the France youth international is eager to sign a contract with the Red Devils. It is stated that there is still “work to be done” to complete the agreement.

Yoro is also admired by Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain. But both sides believed that Madrid were in the lead competition for his services and that they were in a better position to attract his attention.

Nevertheless, United have been steadfast in their negotiations. And unless there is a last-minute transfer hijack, Ten Hag should see one of Europe’s best players bolster his defensive ranks.
